The passages in the Litterae have been adapted to include the constructions listed above.  They have been selected as compliments to paragraphs 9 and 10 from the Passio Perpetuae et Felicitatis.  Ennius recounts Ilia's dream, where she receives a prophesy from her ancestor Aeneas.  Martial and Juvenal write about women who enter the arena as gladiators.  Finally, Livy describes the rape of the Sabine women and their intervention in the Sabine War.
